As many as 141 civil servants from Yiwu Municipal Government, different townships and other resources took part in an exam at Yiwu Municipal Communist Party School for chances to be promoted to mid-level government positions. The written exam covers two subjects, namely Public Knowledge and Explaining-expounding Capacity. Those candidates with high scores, about 21 persons, will be qualified for a second-round interview on December 9. According to No. 2 Cadre Office under the Organization Department of Yiwu Municipal Committee, the positions on offer have attracted 141 eligible applicants. Yiwu Government planned to offer 10 positions, including two mid-level head positions and eight mid-level deputy head positions. However, as the number of candidates for three positions, namely the Deputy Head of Theory Office of the Municipal Propaganda Department, the Deputy Head of Fundamental Education Section under Yiwu Municipal Education Committee and the Head of Personnel Supervision Section under Municipal State-owned Asset Administration, were less than five, such three positions were withdrawn from this competition. Therefore, such 141 applicants have to compete for the rest seven positions, namely the Deputy Head of Information Supervision Section under the Municipal Communist Party Office, the Deputy Head of Information Section under Yiwu Municipal Government General Office, the Deputy Secretary-General of Secretariat Section under the Municipal People’s Congress Office, the Deputy Secretary-General of Secretariat Section under the Municipal People’s Political Consultative Committee Office, the Deputy Secretary-General of No.1 Section under the Municipal Organization Department, the General-Secretary of Yiwu Branch Red Cross Society and the Deputy Head of General Office for the Municipal Supply and Marketing Cooperative in Yiwu. The final scores of applicants will be determined by exam results (written exam results/number of subjects) × 50% + interview score × 50%, and candidates will be selected at a ratio of 1:2 based on total score. The final assessment focusing on virtue, ability, diligence, attitude and integrity will be carried out by the Municipal Organization and Personnel Department along with the employing units. If candidates for a certain position are not proved to be qualified through such assessment, the communist party leaders of the relevant employing units can decide whether to re-start the recruitment process upon approval from the municipal personnel authority.
