On the opening ceremony of 2009 Yiwu Cultural Fair on April 28 ，Zhao Changqing ，the vice president，the general secretary and the Secretary of the Party of China Calligraphers Committee ， handed the brand of “ Hometown of Chinese Calligraphy ” to Chen Xiuxian ，deputy Secretary of CPC Yiwu Committee . This is another cultural gold card of national grade in cultural construction work in Yiwu after “ Hometown of Chinese Modern Folk Painting ” and “ Hometown of Chinese FolkArt ”.
It is learned that Yiwu is entitled the third “ Hometown of Chinese Callig raphy ” after Shaoxing and Tongxiang . In the 2009 Cultural Fair Yiwu fine callig raphy exhibition ，calligraphy exhi bition of 10 ， 000 primary and middle school students and couplets exhibition in Fotang town will be held to popularize Yiwu calligraphy in the country and to promote the calligraphy art and industry .
