The management of employment of foreigners in China is quite nuanced in policy. Yiwu labor authority takes it seriously. A set of complete and standard management regime has been laid down, covering from application, approval, license issuance to post-employment service. Last year Yiwu has issued a total of 106 Foreigner Employment Certificate and 3,245 Foreigner Employment Permit. 21 foreigners were rejected due to not being conformed with the relevant provisions.
Yiwu labor authority strictly enforces relevant provisions, at the same time provides convenience to foreign representative offices in Yiwu by actively communicating with upper-level government. In the latter half of last year, Zhejiang Provincial Department of Labor and Social Security required that going through formalities of employment of foreigners in Zhejiang should possess Z Visa. Most foreigners living in Yiwu are the employees of representative office of foreign companies. To solve the Z Visa problem for this kind of foreigners, Yiwu labor authority repeatedly reported to Zhejiang Provincial Department of Labor and Social Security, and through it to seek coordination from Department of Foreign Affairs of Zhejiang Province. The problem gets solved smoothly, which creates a convenient channel for employment of foreigners in Yiwu.
